Have one in use now, not too fast for traditional HDD but decent build quality and performance, also bus power is good enough to be connected to HDTV STB

Many thanks for your kind suggestion,
considering it has only SATA2 interface,
would you expect a SATA3 box a better option?

Or is that available in the market currently?

AFAIK, no SATA3 enclosures available for the time being, only SATA2
You can only wait

Btw,

just checked a review(though by orico, the bench is worth a glance):

It seems the max speed is around 100MB/s, still some way from the highest of OCZ Vertex 2, I wonder if there are faster enclosures that can max out the drive.

I see, in this case probably I would pick a cheaper but proven model like the suggested,
and wait until the faster boxes are out then I invest more

You'll need thunderbolt adapter to max out an SSD

The problem is that SATA3 interface is NOT backwards compatible with SATA2 device, but the reverse is

If there's only SATA3 interface inside then all SATA2 devices, HDDs will be rendered useless

Really?
I thought the support were the same as those on mainboards.

Then I can only pick a SATA2 box now; I am not gonna get a new SSD for such purpose.
