If the Apple logo is not shown, your machine cannot find the boot.efi file. It could be either software or hardware problem. Take it to IFC or FW. I am sure they will find the cause of the problem. If it is hardware, they will contact you to see if you want to fix or not before charging you. If it is software, the service is free, even reinstall your os is free. If you need to backup your data, bring an ext. HDD with you when you visit Apple store. They will use an known good system to boot your machine and access your internal HDD to check on your files. You can try to backup at that moment if your internal HDD is still readable. However, it may take hours, so book your session as early as possible. Hope this helps.
