They still haven't stopped the registration.  Since they didn't request for a invoice proof, all you need to do is to put down the purchase date as Jan 31, 2010 or before.  My colleague helped me registering for the disc and he received an email saying that the request is under process, and handling fee was charged over on his credit card, so I'm pretty positive that I could receive the disc.

Haha~ I don't have that problem.  I bought an external DVD writer since the 1st day I owned a netbook.  BTW, it only costs $3XX now to get one.  You may consider buying it.

hmm...mate, pls don't abuse the refund policies here. Well if I were you, I wouldn't do that!! You can easily borrow one from your friend.
