Tried the latest version of smartctl. Y-3355 accepts the timeout command without error (it needs an extra parameter -dsat).
-----> Command without -dsat :
smartctl -a /dev/pd4
or
smartctl -s standby,60 pd4
-----> Output :
smartctl 7.1 2019-12-30 r5022 [x86_64-w64-mingw32-w10-1909] (sf-7.1-1)

/dev/pd4: USB bridge [0x152d:0x0539] type is ambiguous: '[unsupported]' or 'sat'
Please specify device type with the -d option.
Use smartctl -h to get a usage summary
-----> command with -dsat :
smartctl -s standby,60 pd4 -dsat

=== START OF ENABLE/DISABLE COMMANDS SECTION ===
Standby timer set to 60 (00:05:00 or vendor-specific)
Even the command works (it seems), it just won't spin down (意見接受, 態度照舊 ). It keeps running and running and running. Anyway, I like the way it is, never spin down. I had a WD hard drive that spinned up and down many times a day for months, at the end the Load and Unload cycle count exceeded the threshold of 300,000
"Each time hard drive enters sleep mode and resumes normal working mode the head and hard drive's wear more rapidly."
