Why do you need to pay Adobe if your major customers are Amazon, Google, Baidu, Microsoft, etc?

A company will go for maximum profit. Being friend with Amazon with cloud CPU orders are easier than being friend with Adobe with unknown results.

Adobe Photoshop could run on Ryzen CPUs. Just that the performance is lower.

Not sure how this is at all relevant but the latest quarterly report tells you that AMD needs to do alot more on diplomacy.

Yes and that puts AMD's products at a disadvantage, hence "a problem".

What quarterly report?
You mean revenue report? Have you factored GPU sales of AMD? I bet you won't dig into details for the revenue report.

Revenue was $1.65 billion, up 4percent year-over-year and down 6 percent quarter-over-quarter. The year-over-year increase was driven by higher client revenue in the Computing and Graphics business segment. The sequential decrease was driven by lower graphics revenue in the Computing and Graphics business segment. Third quarter revenue included IP-related revenue,of which $86 million was related to our THATIC joint venture. Third quarter 2017 revenue also included IP-related revenue.

Gross margin grew to 40 percent, up 4 percentage points year-over-year, primarily driven by the ramp of new products, including RyzenTM and EPYCTM processors. On a sequential basis, gross margin was up 3 percentage points primarily driven by IP-related revenue and the ramp of new products.
Excluding IP-related revenue and memory and inventory related adjustments, gross margin would have been 2 percentage points lower.

AMD CPU market share is on the rise in all fronts.

Quarterly report is a commonly used term in finance. It is a statement covering performance of a listed company over a period of 3 months and in this case, in the States. This is getting off topic, but I don't think I'm seeing what you are seeing when looking at the numbers. In any case, I have nothing more to add and do apologise if my replies are offensive.

as a 10+ years adobe user i can say this is a lame example, because their code is always a mess.
they didn't support 64bit until CS6, but performance didn't scale accordingly.
neither did PS and AI benefit from multicore, they are pretty much single threaded in 2018.
gpu acceleration on PS, AI, AE and PR are buggy, underpowered. Most often AI need to switch back to CPU preview. A 32GB ram Xeon can handle EPS linked file slower than a C2D macbook.
CC is a successive of half written, never optimised code pushed to subscribers.
the only period when a piece of adobe software runs quietly on machine was the powerpc mac.

Yes
It's multi-thread performance, with respect with Adobe, is very shitty.
