... and yet my another account which was opened early this month (provided the travel dates and upgraded to 1GB), now only got 500MB!!

They can disable those promo codes for any future use.  But they should not "suddenly" downgrade of those who have already applied the code.  Very bad move

要去setting remove佢裝果個profile
你依家應該有個sim slot廢左

利申：試過返黎香港以為張data sim有問題 專登用另一張卡開data plan先上到網

Did you try ...
tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
