The external GUI feels like w7 but the internal architecture does NOT
eg. Winblows Update module, it's completely different from that on w7/8.x
Als the deprecation of Control Panel which M$ tries to make users very hard to access

家用 win 10 三年了，大致上O K。公司機就仍是win 7 。

上次用Win8已經係2年多的事了
但印象Win8更新方面都係比10好(靠印象)

當手提電腦被Win10暗中用晒D電,
真心唔鐘意Win10

公司D 機上年先新買,  5年後先再換機
(Win7 繼續用 , 公司係用 Win7 Enterprise + IT 部決定用到呢批機完保先再決定 )

Yes, Windows 8.1 can control updates in the same way as Windows 7.

The problem for Windows 8.1 is, some companies are already dropping support NOW. Examples are :
(1) New AMD graphics cards like RX series and Vega do not have Windows 8.1 drivers.
(2) The new Nvidia RTX series have no Windows 8.1 drivers.
(3) But they do still support Windows 7 (and 10 of course).

Me? I will continue to use Windows 7 and 8.1, keeping one Windows 7 partition on each of my Windows computers even after the end of support in January 2020 while shifting others to Windows 8.1. I will lose the ability to upgrade to newer graphics cards but I don't care. I will avoid Windows 10 for as long as possible. And if in the future I were forced to use Windows 10 then I shall use LTSC (probably version 1809) only.

為什麼 Windows 10 不能穩定下來？

(1) Microsoft 自己決定（不是用家要求）要一年推出兩次重大更新，上一個版本還未穩定，下一個版本已經接著來，更壞的是，新版本因為要依時推出而可能存在巨大問題還未解決而被迫回收，之前 1809 就是如此了。

(2) Windows 10 的強制自動更新很多時會強制下載一些存在缺陷的更新，不但更新時間有時頗長，更新後可能出現大問題又要花人力、時間解決，就算用家移除了有問題的更新，強制自動更新都會自動再下載並安裝，直到 Microsoft 收回有問題的更新為止。

試問在這些情況之下，怎可能穩定下來？
