I am quite proud to be one the the TouchPad owner :-)
As you guys know there is no proper Chinese input for the Touchpad just yet, please allow me to type in English.
To be honest I never had any proper intention to buy a tablet until I met this lovely slat, mostly attracted by its price. After some daily usage, I am surely enjoying WebOS and don't really feel the need of Android porting. Just some background about myself, I have been playing with Android on my HD2 since early July 2010, from SD build to nand build, and now using WP7. After whole year usage of Android, I must say I am finally bored of it. Android is a good OS, but I really don't see myself using the same OS again on my tablet, even it would be slightly different on a bigger screen. I agree that the number of apps is letting WebOS down and Android would be more convenience in this way, but I would describe android is overly flooded with apps. Even if we ignore the average quality of these android apps, it is so difficult to spot any good app out from the market unless you read about recommendations on forums and websites. In contrast I think WP7 is doing a good job here, staying low in the new apps number per day but their quality are generally high. I am hoping WebOS to follow this route. I understand it would be tough as the discontinue of hardware manufacturing does have a big impact on software developments, but so far I can still feel the growth of WebOS with a good app launching in app catalogue every few days.
I have seen some very good apps for the WebOS, like the TuneIn radio, AccuWeather, AA travel guide, etc. Apps suitable for the use of Hong Kong area might be significantly fewer than other countries, which lead to a more disappointment. But as user from the UK, it really isn't that bad after all. Will try to share more of my experience with you guys later on, hope to raise more interest of you Hong Kong users. Cheers |
