If you use the latest kernel, no matter what NIC, you get >90% throughput on the wire, even with a PCI 64bit bus. The effect of the kernel is much bigger than the relative performance of the NIC brandname. TCP checksum calculation, now, almost all brandnames have it. Ring buffers for receive and transmit, either you have some on board RAM (like Broadcom), or you can allocate some system RAM.
I heard that for multicast address filter, there is a difference between brandnames, some are implemented better, and some are less efficient. But, how many users are using multicast in normal office / home work?
PCI 32-bit is not very good for GbE, because of bandwidth limitation on the PCI bus, other than that, not much difference.
