i am using it. rv042 is a old but stable router. it is a bit hot but powerful, as the intel cpu inside.
the problem is, it ip-sec vpn is seem have some problem in the newer firmware that I got connected-but-cannot-use problem for a long time. now, I use it as PPTP server only and it is stable for this setup.

also, RV042 have dual wan. but I found that it dual wan function is not enough. Say, it cannot select which wan is use for connect VPN or port mapping by wan. these functions are useful and often being seem in other ture dual wan router say 2910.

据我所知大陸D酒店上網有2种：DHCP（大多數都係）同 Static IP
1. DHCP，係埋直接將酒店條lan插入我咯router wan port到，需5需要set其他野？
2. Static IP，係埋直接將酒店比我咯Static IP 填入 router ？

i have at home(HK) sitting an older P5.  I am wondering if i can set it up as a vpn router?  is it possible?

if it is possible, what other requirements are there?
