I have followed all your conversation describing your problem and I have the following comments.
1) 2.6Mbps seems to be limited by your NAS hardware, therefore upgrading the router won't help in your situation.
2) Jumbo frame setting is only useful for your gigabit local network. It wouldn't help for BT download because the MTU size for your endpoint VDSL modem/router won't exceed 1500.
3) Your BT slow down problem is very likely caused by the immature buffalo firmware. ie, it may have limited TCP session table and does not recycle TCP session fast enough. You best bet is to put NAS on the DMZ zone (true DMZ should not be NATed and it should not consume NAT TCP session table) to test if the slow down issue still occur... |
