For your reference, you can also consider NuForce Icon. It's doubled of HiDIY USB. But NuForce Icon has a class D amp (dun ask me what Class D is it's a new effective way of amplifying signals so the amp can be so much smaller anyway ).

Yes, if you buy soundrigor, HIFIDIY or Icon (the price goes up ... oh), you may need to upgrade the headphones

I have never tried China-made active speakers. Will you consider speakers (you seem to prefer headphones )? I think some China brand are making very good active speakers (with amplifiers inside) at the price range $300 to 400.
