功能有限?? You mean sound quality or functionality? There're many reports about using eeepc with Benchmark DAC1, and they're highly positive. Of course, if one goes further, I am not sure if eepc can compete with excellent HTPC (but good HTPC costs so much more!)
HTPC is too complicated for me  I have thought about this issue ... if you're going to play CD redbook only, the ATOM in eeepc is already enough. Of course, if one pursue more high-end (though some disagree!) spec and wanna play more than 16bit 44.1khz souce (like downloading from foreign websites), eeepc is defintely not ok . Of course there is the debate about firmwire vs. USB vs. other ouput methods and their relations with sound quality.
In my humble opinion, eeepc is good enough for mid-end system  and in fact I have never experienced using eeepc to connect to a system more than 70k. It's beyond my experience. z80 hing, please share more with your HTPC experience if possible ...  |

Never thought of using it for video ... that's almost impossible for good quality video definitely
In this sense, eeepc is just for CD quality music.
