Yes, but it if is popular then won't people just go online and order it.
You see when iPhone 2G first released, it was exclusive only to the US and that too saw better sales compared to Nexus One today which can be bought from people around the world.
In Hong Kong you can get one easily at Sintat or Yahoo Auctions. This show that so many unit have been sold to Hong Kong alone.
1) apple did a much better marketing campaign than google. JOBS standing on the stage announcing release of innovative next generation mobile phone.... the news coverage is far greater than nexus one which many people in HK still haven't heard about.
2) there are too many smartphone now compared with the time when iPhone was first launched.
3) lack of distribution channels also means fewer middle men can get $$ out of this product. No efforts will be put in promotion by third parties other than word of mouth on the
4) N1 only serves as a testing purpose for Google checkout and limted to 4 places in the world only. HK and SG are such small markets that won't contribute much in total sales.
5) late delivery and 3g issues became the main news in first 2 weeks that severely hindered sales. People tend to be affected by the negative news no matter how good the phone is regarding its software and build.

Today many guys already own a HTC Magic, HTC Hero, G1, Samsung Galaxy, etc, etc. Not everyone will max out their credit cards just to keep up with the gadget race.
20000 units sold world wide is a joke.
I think Google should pull up their socks and start to do something to increase sales.
1) increase the amount of space that people can use to install programs and games. How long can everyone manage with 180megs out of the box?

Before its release, many people said the phone was ugly, too HTC like, etc. But people who actually ...

True but not much can be done with only 180megs out of the box. Sooner or later we will have to uninstall programs so as to try new programs.
Such a shame for such a good device. This is why many are willing to void their warranty so as to get App2SD.
If only Google releases an update allowing us to transfer apps to SD, we will be alot happier. Of course installing apps directly to SD will be even better. We may even see some real 3D games releasing.
