而家唔好話WD BLACK 無得賣, 仲要近年WD 風評都麻麻, 尤其WD RE 同RED (4TB) 死得好勁...
就換機, 諗住換埋新HDD
DESKTOP : 靜就真係無咩期望... 有就最好. 不過最緊要耐用...快, HGST 7K6000 系列OK?
NAS : 而家用緊 WD RED 3TB, TOUCHWOOD 未有事, 想買一對4TB, RED 已經無哂信心... 仲有無咩好推介? 呢個要求高D, 耐用, 最緊要靜... NAS 多數長開... 我又唔想搞到間房DATACENTRE 咁...

我用過百隻 WD 4T datacenter 金版,其實都唔係咁差,3TB 就早O個批問題比較多,主要係無故outsync . RMA 回來的暫時行了一年多都未有問題.
如果你要第二隻牌子我會選HGST .
你用來做7x24 和行raid 先用enterprise ,如果唔係用返desktop 都無問題.

I'm not a fan of raid setup. And the following is my usual setting:
- Simple volume
- Volume encrypted (qnap supports encryption at volume level)
- 24/7
While the two T 3tb were put in qnap since day 1, the hgst 2tb was used in different hardware like asustor, qnap, orico, unitek, etc ... of course at 24/7.

There were studies/comments/user feedback saying RAID would shorten hdd's avg lifespan.
Anyway, the two passed away T 3TB (DT01ACA300) have been replaced by HGST Deskstar NAS 4TB (HDN726040ALE614) and Toshiba Enterprise 4TB (MG04ACA400N). Once again, they're running in Simple mode and being encrypted at volume level.
BTW, remember to have periodic backup (the higher the frequency, the better
). And have two backup copies for important data. T 3TB dies when it ... dies

that curse seem to have spread across brands over the past few years. it is not incommon to hear HDDs by WD, Toshiba, Seagate to malfunction within 2 years of purchase, if you got lucky that they didn't in their first year.
