按us區域因為有幾個州係個銷售稅較低!
3800 lock左我前幾日見到
3600可能係o係一d銷售稅較高既地方買入啦!! 3600已經算正常價啦! 所以3800樓下連unlock 想換又能夠俾得起 去馬啦

That is a good deal.

I bought mine for $4380 with 8GB card and screen protector 2 and a half weeks ago.

My G1 is software unlocked by T-Moble Code.

Mine 3680 (brown) unlock by T mobile code....
Traded a x01HT for 950
Paid 2730 + 20 for screen protector ==> 2750

Happily using...
Now i figured out WM6.0 is sooo lag and slow!!!

Phone is not as "ugly" as a lot of you thought and it is solid build...
Good thing is OTA update work in HK so... I am now using lastest firmware RC30

In order to use it for full power... You have to use unlimited data plan~
people $98 plan is what i am using =P

Bad thing is the speaker is not loud enough and the virbration of the phone is not strong enough
We cant install app in SD card. (We can put mp3 video pics ringtone wallpaper there tho)
Therefore choose wisely of what you need to install from the Market although the app there are free.

I check the roadmap and the offical forum... google "promise" to work on it and when it is ready, we will recieve update. Flash is going to be ready for G1. May be it is something that what G1 can do but i phone cant =P

I am very happy with Google G1. The phone is not ugly by any means but it is bulky.   In time one will get used to it.  It is true that you will enjoy the phone more if you have unlimited data plan.

The volume of the phone is not that bad though I agree that the vibration is a bit weak.   

There are some minor bugs in the phone at the moment which surely will be fixed with firmware updates.  The only problem is timing.   Just hope that by the time the fixes are released by Google we don't go out and get another new phone.  

Hope they can release a firmware which will enable: bluetooth a2dp, installing applications to the SD card and virtual keyboard for quick replies to SMS messages.

I am told that an official chinese version will be released in Quarter 1 2009.  So the popularity will eventually be increased.  

Currently I am hoping that the android software can be installed in the HTC Touch HD.  Because I am tempted to get the HTC Touch HD.   But I don't want to use an outdated and boring windows mobile software.

is the average price of it in HK is around 3500-3600?
because there are already 2 of the members are saying that the machines is selling around this range.. but i really dunno where is trust worthy enough to get one.

Some shops sell fake batteries and some sell 2nd hand phones and polish them before selling the phones.     Just be careful and buy from good shops.

Anyway, newer phones are releasing soon so if you are thinking of G1 now you better think carefully.  

HTC Touch HD is releasing and soon you can install the Android in the TOUCH HD.  Will be interesting if the Sony Ericsson X1 can also be hacked to install Android.

This week ezone post a news about flashing G1 into the traditional chinese rom. It included vitural keyboard and Chinese handwriting IME...

I have tired to find out more info about it....
but i can just find some screen shot...

Yeah I saw it in this weeks e-zone issue.   I was wondering too.   I want to know if I use the hacked firmware, then will I still get the updates from Google or not.

Good thing is the hacked firmware can set the phone language to English or Chinese.   

This is surelly a hacked firmware because Google said the official Chinese version will release in Q1 2009.

there is a 3d benchmark for G1 called neocore or something u can download for free from the market and i dun think htc hd is ok to run with android... becuase of no keyboard support...

2 really inportant updte to g1 is coming
#1 flash support
#2 rotate screen when we tilted the phone(?)

hope i will come out before 2009 =P

Virtual Keyboard support is already available if you use the Chinese version of R30 firmware.   Not only that but the hacker who are trying to get Android installed in HTC HD are also working on a keyboard for it.  

My only concern is the Google OTA updates.   I wonder if the updates can be received in the hacked version of HTC HD Android.

Virtual Keyboard is really useful in G1? I don't think so when the portable machine has a QWERTY

virtual keyboard is great for people who carry a bag and like to have 1 hand operation to reply for quick sms.

It doesn't hurt to have options right?   It will be free from Google so why not?

Well I don't think $3780 for an Android phone is bad.  It is pretty good looking at the other phones in the market today.

iPHone is still pretty high in price after 5 months of release.

HTC Touch Pro after 2 months is still very high in price.

G1 is selling for only $3780 which is pretty decent for Hong Kong Market.
Just forget how much the US citizens are able to get it with a contract.   We are not in the US.    If a G1 Hong Kong version was launched surely the price would have been better.

Nokia's ugly 5800 is selling for $3800 and I don't think it is anything better than the G1.
