100M Ethernet!

MRTG? Running on the same machine?

MRTG? Running on the same machine?
hmuskie 發表於 2016-5-27 14:57

Yes, monitoring CPU temperature and frequency.

For OrangePi, CPU temperature can be read by,
cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp

and frequency by,
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq

These commands are put into 2 separate shell scripts triggered by MRTG.

I'm thinking to get one as well. Btw, any drawback about this machine?

You mean Pine 64 or Orange Pi PC? I've no idea about Pine 64 since I'm using Orange. Drawbacks of Orange I can think of:
1. Lack of hardware acceleration when playing video under Linux due to the licensing of the Mali GPU, so that I'm simply running it as headless server.
2. Speed not as fast as Rasperry Pi 3.

Otherwise I found it good enough. Reliability is good - initially I shut it down every night since the DIY power supply unit using EI transform was hot, but after changing it to a toroidal transformer, I run it 24x7 and it's never crashed. Software resource is also good enough - there're various ubuntu and debian images which immediately work after 'dd' to a micro SD card. An SDK with kernel source is available and I've successfully built my own custom kernel.

I've bought my 2nd Orange Pi PC and I'm now trying to test some video stuff, cedrus, vdpau, etc for video hardware acceleration. I'll share my SD image is my testing is successful.
