that 65534 PE is a limitation of LVM (version 1). LVM2 doesn't have this limit anymore, so don't worry...

CentOS boot CD can read/write LVM, but as quintus suggested, using other rescue CD maybe easier ;)

試下 dd 舊 /boot partition 再 restore 落新果個度。
或者抄底舊/boot 個UUID，再將新/boot 個UUID改成呢個舊UUID 。

dd 未必最好, tar 個 /boot 可以 untar 去另一個 /boot
由隻碟既 bootloader 如 grub 去 load /boot/your_image
另選擇有 syslinux

如果問題同UUID有關，tar 並沒有將UUID記低，一係要將舊UUIＤ記錄低，untar 後改番，一係將新UUIＤ 係untar 後加番落Ｄ config. files，例如grub.cfg, fstab, 仲有無其它就唔知。
grub 跟 syslinux 分別在那裡 ? 願聞其詳

有, 叫 /etc/crypttab
另可以 ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid/ 睇下, 列出是 block devices
mkfs 時, UUID 是可以 assign 的

lvm 同 hal 一樣係 junks, 2002 年有 device-mapper, linux volume manager 由果時 lvm 攪到而家.
最好笑係有無做好的 lvm 分享呢?

Your concept of snapshot in LVM is not quite right. Suppose you want to take a snapshot on volume A, you need to specify where the new IO to A will be written (since A will be frozen and will not be modified as long as the snapshot is in effect), say volume B. You need to determent if the size in B is large enough for the duration of the snapshot. Usually, we take a snapshot so that we can make a full backup with a consistence filesystem. You cannot backup a filesystem when it is live.
