最近添置了一部notebook
家中/外出兩用
有時出街上網或開文件唔想下下開window
所以希望裝多隻linux
我想揾隻開機快，可以開下文件同用wifi
my notebook pc(hp compaq):
intel core2duo p8600
4gb ddr2 800
14" mon (1280*800)
nvida geforce 9200m gs
intel wifi link 5100
我唔太留意linux既消息
有冇師兄可以俾啲意見我用邊隻linux
另外，我有朋友說行linux會比window省電，真的嗎？

My suggestion:
Stick to Windows XP if you only want to 'use' something fast and easy.
You need a lot of time in:
- Learning how to use Linux
- Learning how to install/maintain a Linux distro
- Customize the Linux to boot faster
If you are willing to 'learn', it's another matter.

唔做 tuning 我諗最近期０既 Distro (Fedora, OpenSuse, Ubuntu 之類) 基本上開機仲慢過 Windows...

其實vista根據自己需要設定好
系統比xp更穏定和快(不過電腦太慢另計)
絕對冇外間講得咁差
我冇咩理由去裝xp
其實好多年前我已經接觸過linux
不過我當時覺得作用不大沒再用
但買咗notebook想要番個精簡同開機快既os
因而另我考慮用linux
linux圖形界面發展咗咁多年
我想有心學習該不會很難吧

IMHO, the longest time taken during the boot process is to populate the udev and probing the modules. His computer is powerful enough to handle the big desktop like Gnome or KDE.

我最近接觸 Linux
我諗 Ubuntu 環境最接近 Windows
http://www.ubuntu-tw.org/
不過 Linux 既檔案類型有D唔係同 Windows 共通
例如文字檔
不過 Linux OS 開關機好快
Windows軟件替代品
