coz they official retired old fashion legacy apps before shifting to the new paradigm. Those vendors launched new UWP app are targeting wide-spread Windows community than the tiny mobile base user. Windows community now includes PC, mobile, Xbox, holloes and surface hubs. Where PC means not only traditional desktop or notebook but also portable 2 in 1 tablet. They probably need time to investigate, re-position or revamp the whole structure and campaign of modern presence in the big, vast Windows community which is majority of the computer world.

呢類大公司唔會好似d 香港公司咁只著重眼前既，人地睇得遠一點，亦不會人云亦云

Amazon working on a new Windows app
由於Windows 10所有平台OS包括Desktop, Mobile, Xbox, IoT等等...既周年更新會係8月頭, 而且Desktop和Mobile這兩個平台係優先最早獲得分批更新!
好多apps想寫成UWA(Universal Windows Apps能夠運行係所有Windows 10平台既apps), 當然包括Amazon!
來緊周年更新至Redstone, 不久又有Redstone第2階段的更新, 所以寫apps都會以Redstone為主, 其實近期都有較多apps下架出新UWP(universal windows platforms)既apps!
Amazon既回覆:

外國仍然有大部份app沒有WP/UWP版本，或只推出功能較iOS/Android版差的app，不會說這些公司短視嗎？

你唔好成日攞D 無謂既數字出黎寫幾句好似好有POINT 先得. "大部份" 咩為之大部份? 係quality 定quantity. facebook 叫唔叫大部份.. 佢佔social media 係咪最大部份?! 計app 總數? 定計app 用量?!
呢個係商業社會, 唔係政治意題, 唔使日日攞舊屎出黎鞭, 鞭完咪得班傻仔 自high. 一間成熟既商業機構, 講既投資回報, 行業前景. 有咩決策錯誤經糾正後就係向前看, 舊屎都唔會有人攞出黎日日講.
問下對眼下巿場既了解, 正如有人話點解MS 攞26B 全cash 買linkedin 都唔收個snapchat. 一樣咁
