took d3 + 80-200 2.8 AFD and d700 + 14-24 to tibet, mostly used the 80-200 on d3

the area is too big in tibet, need to pull things together with telephoto.

the advantage of using a telephoto for this trip is that the compression pulls far way things closer together to give a better display of the subject and surrounding. and i shot alot of shots in the 4x4 through the window opening while on the road.

i think highest point we were briefly at was 5300M, we also spent a nite at 52xxm at mount everest base camp.

70-200 should be sufficient, u can always add an extender to it as it heard it takes them quite well, 100-400 has smaller aperture which might be more restrictive.
